Coppell Cowboys Soccer – Food Donation Drive with North Texas Food Bank

Over 4 million Texans struggle with food insecurity and 25% of them are children and teenagers. Their need for assistance has only increased with the impact of the pandemic and the recent weather and power outages across Texas. The Coppell Cowboys soccer program is starting this food donation drive to help our fellow Texans who are struggling right now.

In order to assist, we have launched our food drive with the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB). The NTFB is one of the leading charities in Texas, and just last year provided access to almost 97 million meals to those in need.  Every dollar given to the NTFB can provide three meals, so any donation makes a big impact. These contributions will help to feed families in our neighboring communities and we ask you to donate whatever you are comfortable with, because it will make a difference.

To assist in this effort, both financial and actual food contributions are welcome. If you would like to make a monetary donation, please visit the Coppell Soccer landing page at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/coppell-soccer. Making a credit card donation on the page is simple, with a receipt provided through the website at the end of the process. If you would rather make a direct food donation, there will be food donation boxes set up in the Athletics office, the Horseshoe, and at the entry to Buddy Echols Stadium on home game days.  Almost all non-perishable food items are accepted, and there are specific foods preferred for their nutritional value (https://www.hunker.com/13419975/10-most-needed-items-for-a-food-pantry). 

The donation drive begins this week, and our goal is to reach $5000 in monetary donations and 500 canned/boxed food items by March 20. We need everyone’s help to reach this goal, and we are grateful for a contribution of any size or type!

In challenging times, we can all make a difference so that one less family in Texas will go hungry. Thank you for your support and generosity.  Go Cowboys!
